Mothers Day Mini Kalama Beach

Mother’s Day minis started at sunrise on Kalama Beach. The kind of early where the world feels quieter, softer. The light came in gently at first with bubblegum skies that shifted with each session. No two felt the same. Each mum stepped into her own version of it, her own moment, her own rhythm with her kids.

That’s what I loved most.

Nothing felt staged. Just small interactions unfolding, arms wrapping around legs, kids running in and out of the water, mums holding them close for a second longer than usual. The kind of moments that happen every day, but feel different when you pause long enough to notice them.

As the morning went on, the light grew brighter, a little warmer, a little more alive. It made me think about how rarely mums are in the frame. How often they’re the ones capturing it all, but not part of it.

This felt like a small way to change that. Not perfect photos. Just honest ones. A moment in time, held in light.
